About Us
Managed by Dr. Paldeep S. Atwal, a board-certified geneticist, Atwal Clinic is made up of the highest quality medical geneticists in the U.S, who specialize in many areas. Our mission is to bring transparency and access to the practice of genetics. We are owned and operated by doctors who are compassionate and understand the long diagnostic odyssey that many patients suffer through. With the widespread availability of affordable genetic testing laboratories, we are able to find more specific and effective ways of managing patients. We are based in Palm Beach, FL and see patients from around the world.
Transforming genetic healthcare
At the Atwal Clinic we combine proven science and compassion to provide the care patients need and deserve. Dr. Atwal listens to patients, often with obscure, unexplained symptoms and applies his many years of genetic background to determine a diagnosis.
The first and one of the most vital steps he takes in the diagnosis process is listening to patients. As the patient explains their symptoms, he identifies patterns and recognizes the potential genetic variations that can cause these problems. From his years of experience he is able to detect the patterns of not only genetic disease, but rare genetic disease as well.
Dr. Atwal provides an explanation of the disease and what to expect with it, gives an accurate recurrence risk estimate of the condition in other members of the family, and answers any questions you may have about your condition. If necessary, genetic testing is ordered and interpreted to determine the exact genetic cause to provide care accordingly. To ensure patients receive the care necessary following diagnosis, Dr. Atwal creates a plan for how to optimize medication and treatment and will put patients in contact with specialists that can assist in this management of care.
A modern approach
Appointments can be either in person or through a virtual appointment. Most individuals are quite comfortable receiving care via telemedicine as the process is nearly identical to face-to-face care. Telemedicine can be used to provide care to nearly every individual’s unique presentation. Our physicians value a team-based approach and communicate with patients’ other providers to ensure the best care possible. Our philosophy stresses overall well-being and we are fully qualified to prescribe medication.
